DAY 1

Start early today, approx. 2 hours drive to Choquequilla, a small ceremonial site where the Incas worshipped the Moon. From here you will head to the small community near Qory Song’o (Heart of Gold) mountain, where you can climb to the top for stunning views of the Soqma Perolniyoc, Pachar and Huarocondo valleys.

The area also has several sacred mausoleums protected by the locals, which you can explore with a guide and even see some of the original wood and leather structures. These ruins have never been seen by tourists before, so you can take part in this unique experience. Continue to the Perolniyoc Cascade overlook where you can stop for snacks and photos. Arrive at the campsite at 3700 meters around lunch time.

You will then head to explore the Q’orimarca archaeological site, which once served as an Inca checkpoint.

DAY 2

This is the most challenging and rewarding day of the hike.

It takes 3 hours to reach the summit of the first pass of Puccaqasa, which is approximately 4,370 meters above sea level. After enjoying the scenic views of the valley, take a short walk to stop for lunch. Then, embark on a 2-hour hike to Kuychicassa, the highest pass of this trek at 4,450 meters above sea level. From here, head down to the Inca sacred site called «Intipunku.» It is a sun gate through which the sun shines at certain times of the year, and it offers beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada Veronica all year round. Head to the campsite, which is just a stone’s throw away, 3600 m above sea level.

DAY 3

Today’s hike is entirely downhill.

The first stop was the unfinished Cachicata quarry, where the Incas were captured by the Spanish. After the hike, explore the cobblestone streets of Ollantaytambo.

Here you will meet your non-hikers and take the short train ride to Aguas Calientes. Overnight at the hotel before tomorrow’s visit to Machu Picchu.

Tonight you have the opportunity to take a bath in the hot spring.

DAY 4

Take the early morning bus to Machu Picchu at 6:00 a.m. The city was founded around 1440 AD. as a refuge for the Inca nobility, but there is evidence that this land was a sacred place for the Incas much earlier. Take a guided tour to see the remains of temples, palaces and residential areas. It’s a day to remember!.

After all the travelers had enjoyed seemingly endless photo opportunities, it was time to hop on the bus to Aguas Calientes, where we stopped for lunch together.

From here, take the tourist train to Ollantaytambo and then drive back to Cusco, where you will arrive in the evening to Cusco hotel.

For Hiking in Peru

We provide tents and sleeping mats during your Peru trek.

During the pre-hike briefing, you will be given a small bag to carry your hiking clothes, please note that the weight limit is 5 kg, including the sleeping bag.

If you are hiking in Peru, in addition to the general packing list above, be sure to bring these items with you.

You must bring your passport, a photocopy is not enough.

It is very important that your passport matches the information you provided us when booking this trip (please keep it in a plastic bag in case of rain)

A warm sleeping bag is required for the hike. Sleeping bag rental costs 20-25 USD, please inform the group leader during the briefing.

A four-season (or -10) sleeping bag is recommended, especially during the winter months.

Other times you can wear a 3-season (or -5) sleeping bag, but it depends on how cold you are and is just a guide.

Especially recommended if you plan to rent a sleeping bag, but can also add warmth to your own.

Pillows are not provided on the trek, it is your personal choice if you want to bring one. If you decide to bring a pillow, we recommend that you bring a travel-friendly pillow that will easily fit into your small bag.

Trekking poles are not required, it is a personal choice. We recommend renting them before your hike briefing for around $10 per person, so you can avoid the hassle of carrying them for the rest of your trip.

A daypack with easy access to a water bottle (outside pocket) or a daypack with a built-in water bladder.

The bag should be large enough to hold a few things you need for the day (hat, water, camera, snacks, raincoat, etc).

You should bring at least 2 liters of water per day when hiking. Depending on whether you have a hydration bladder in your bag, we recommend bringing two (1 liter) bottles along the way that can be filled with boiled water, as they are provided daily.

Good, comfortable shoes are essential.

No matter what you wear on your feet, comfort is the most important thing. It is very important to make sure your boots are durable and lightweight.

Ankle support and waterproof are recommended, but if you already have comfortable, grippy boots, don’t rush out and buy new ones – you’re better off with your old pair!

(e.g. zip-up pants, jacket, T-shirt).

Thermal underwear is highly recommended as it is lightweight, will keep you warm at night.

Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.

Personal medicine and basic first aid kit.Band-Aids, Imodium, Pain killer and rehydration packs.

Camera and extra batteries, memory cards or film.

Please note: there are no electrical outlets on the hike, so make sure you are fully charged and/or have extra batteries.

Chocolate, potato chips, cookies, energy bars. Snacks are provided during the hike, but you can bring an extra one or two just in case.

If you have dietary requirements, it is recommended that you bring suitable snacks from home.

We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, but for safety reasons it is advisable to bring snacks.

Keep your belongings and clothes dry (wrap everything in a plastic bag).

toilet paper:

Most importantly! There are also small plastic bags or zip lock bags for trash, which are then thrown into the main trash bag provided by the mover. Please don’t throw toilet paper on the floor!

These are essential and will come in handy if you are traveling long distances and don’t have access to a shower.

Small towel and basic personal toiletries:

There is a shower available on the third night on the Inca Trail , so bring travel – shampoo and body wash if you wish.
