Why You Will Choose this Trip

  • On your journey to the enchanted Machu Picchu, the mother of all Inca cities, you can choose your own trip. Take the train for a more relaxed experience, or test your mettle on the strenuous Classic Inca trail.
  • Admire the unspoiled Amazon’s everlasting beauty. With a local guide, explore the rainforest’s trails while keeping an eye out for wildlife and medicinal plants. Spend the night in a peaceful jungle lodge.
  • Travel with your local tour leader from the first day to the last one of your trip, take a guided walk through the quaint city of Cusco, Peru’s genuine cultural and historic center, where Spanish cathedrals and Inca temples line the cobblestone streets.
  • During a homestay in a traditional Andean hamlet, you can spend the night in a mud-brick house on the shore of the enormous, historic Lake Titicaca. You can also take your small party to see the floating reed islands of Uros.
  • You will be traveling responsibly with a firm that cares about striking a balance between profit and purpose, whether you want to climb the Inca Trail or take the picturesque train route.

Is this Trip Correct for You

  • Regardless of age or physical condition, some persons may get altitude sickness as a result of this trip’s high altitude encounters. Please refer to the itinerary’s section on medical and health information.
  • To see the attractions, this journey requires a lot of walking; if you choose to hike the Inca Trail, it will be difficult. Those who are reasonably fit are advised to embark on the excursion. For further information, refer to the itinerary information’s «Packing» section.
  • Those that hike the Inca Trail will be sleeping with rudimentary amenities. The route and the ultimate destination, Machu Picchu, are unquestionably what make this method of traveling through Peru worthwhile.
  • In the Amazon, temperatures can range from humid during the day to cold at night. Insects are widespread, particularly mosquitoes. We advise wearing light cotton clothing that covers your arms and legs, along with warmer layers for the nighttime, and applying insect repellent of tropical strength.
  • Many lengthier combo excursions include this one. It’s possible that some of your fellow travelers will be taking alternative paths to Machu Picchu, while others may have started earlier or be traveling farther.
  • All visitors must adhere to a predetermined path within Machu Picchu, per the site’s visiting laws. This path must only be used in one way, and it is not allowed to leave and return to the site once the guided tour has started. It is not allowed for guests to explore Machu Picchu on their own after the guided tour is over. For more information, please consult the itinerary.
  • Within Machu Picchu, travelers that opt for different routes to get there (such as the Inca Trail or Train) will not take the same paths. As a result, you might not be able to take pictures of Machu Picchu together.

The recommendation of this list is based on the previous comments of our customers, especially if you intend to do the Inca Trail, Please consider the suggestions we give you here, but feel free to pack as you wish and consider that the weather may be different depending on the period of the year you want to travel and its different microclimates that it has for the different geographical regions.

Packing
Most travelers prefer small to medium wheeled suitcases that are large enough for our private cars. Whatever you bring, keep in mind that you need to be able to carry your luggage, handle it at the airport, get in/out of your accommodation and possibly even walk short distances.

In general, we recommend packing as light as possible.

Domestic flight baggage allowance:
The maximum weight limit for checked baggage is 23 kg, including 1 small piece of hand luggage (maximum dimensions for hand luggage: 25 cm depth x 35 cm width x 45 cm height).

Any excess baggage fees must be paid directly to the airline at check-in.

In addition to the items and clothes you always need when traveling, we have listed our packing recommendations for this trip:

Basic

  • Closed-toe shoes help protect your feet from cuts and scrapes when walking around the city and bush/grass areas, and can also act as a barrier against bites or stings in rare cases
  • Sun protection
  • Hat, sunscreen
  • Sunglasses

Recommended:

  • Soft and/or hard copies of all important documents such as tickets, passports, vaccination certificates, etc.
  • And keep hard copies separate from the originals. While a copy is ineffective, it makes it easier to get a replacement if needed
  • Water bottle. We recommend a capacity of at least 1.5 liters. The sale of plastic bottled water is causing huge environmental problems around the world.Much of it ends up in limited landfills or is buried in streams and the natural environment
  • Power adapter plug
  • Personal medical kit. Your guide will bring a large kit, but we recommend bringing items such as mild pain relievers, electrolytes and patches.
    Insecticide
  • Can be used with clocks/alarm clocks or phones

Elective subjects

  • Earplugs to prevent potential snoring from roommates
  • Phrasebook

Valuables:

Try not to bring unnecessary valuables and use the hotel safe.

It’s also a good idea to buy a money belt or purse that’s easy to hide

Laundry:

Many hotels and cities offer laundry services while you’re traveling, but you may have to wait over the night for your laundry to be returned on time.

Hotel laundries usually charge per piece, while self-service laundries usually charge per kilogram, and the price is usually not expensive (around $2 per kg)

Amazon Jungle Packing List

  • Long, light, close-fitting cotton shirt and pants
  • Comfortable shoes and sandals for outdoor walking and around lodge.
  • Long, thick socks to wear with rubber boots from the lodge.
  • Raincoat or poncho
  • Tropical-strength insecticide
  • Small bills for occasional purchases (e.g. drinks)
  • Headlamp or flashlight (optional, smartphone flashlight will suffice)
  • Binoculars (optional)

A warm sleeping bag is required for the hike. Sleeping bag rental costs 20-25 USD, please inform the group leader during the briefing.

A four-season (or -10) sleeping bag is recommended, especially during the winter months.

Other times you can wear a 3-season (or -5) sleeping bag, but it depends on how cold you are and is just a guide.

Especially recommended if you plan to rent a sleeping bag, but can also add warmth to your own.

Pillows are not provided on the trek, it is your personal choice if you want to bring one. If you decide to bring a pillow, we recommend that you bring a travel-friendly pillow that will easily fit into your small bag.

The bag should be large enough to hold a few things you need for the day (hat, water, camera, snacks, raincoat, etc).

Good, comfortable shoes are essential.

No matter what you wear on your feet, comfort is the most important thing. It is very important to make sure your boots are durable and lightweight.

Ankle support and waterproof are recommended, but if you already have comfortable, grippy boots, don’t rush out and buy new ones – you’re better off with your old pair!

toilet paper:

Most importantly! There are also small plastic bags or zip lock bags for trash, which are then thrown into the main trash bag provided by the mover. Please don’t throw toilet paper on the floor!

These are essential and will come in handy if you are traveling long distances and don’t have access to a shower.
