Why You Would Like This Trip
- On your journey to the enchanted Machu Picchu, the mother of all Inca cities, you can choose your own trip. Take the train for a more relaxed experience, or test your mettle on the strenuous Classic Inca trail.
- Admire the unspoiled Amazon’s everlasting beauty. With a local guide, explore the rainforest’s trails while keeping an eye out for wildlife and medicinal plants. Spend the night in a peaceful jungle lodge.
- Travel with your local tour leader from the first day to the last one of your trip, take a guided walk through the quaint city of Cusco, Peru’s genuine cultural and historic center, where Spanish cathedrals and Inca temples line the cobblestone streets.
- During your visiting the historic Lake Titicaca. You can also take your small party to see the floating reed islands of Uros and Taquile Island with opportunity to interact with the local people.
- You will be traveling responsibly with a firm that cares about striking a balance between profit and purpose, whether you want to climb the Inca Trail or take the picturesque train route.
Is This Trip Right For You
- Regardless of age or physical condition, some persons may get altitude sickness as a result of this trip’s high altitude encounters. Please refer to the itinerary’s section on medical and health information.
- To see the attractions, this journey requires a lot of walking; if you choose to hike the Inca Trail, it will be difficult. Those who are reasonably fit are advised to embark on the excursion. For further information, refer to the itinerary information’s «Packing» section.
- Those that hike the short Inca Trail will be hiking for 12 km The route and the ultimate destination, Machu Picchu, are unquestionably what make this method of traveling through Peru worthwhile.
- In the Amazon, temperatures can range from humid during the day to cold at night. Insects are widespread, particularly mosquitoes. We advise wearing light cotton clothing that covers your arms and legs, along with warmer layers for the nighttime, and applying insect repellent of tropical strength.
- Many lengthier combo excursions include this one. It’s possible that some of your fellow travelers will be taking alternative paths to Machu Picchu, while others may have started earlier or be traveling farther.
- All visitors must adhere to a predetermined path within Machu Picchu, per the site’s visiting laws. This path must only be used in one way, and it is not allowed to leave and return to the site once the guided tour has started. It is not allowed for guests to explore Machu Picchu on their own after the guided tour is over. For more information, please consult the itinerary.
- Within Machu Picchu, travelers that opt for different routes to get there (such as the Inca Trail or Train) will not take the same paths. As a result, you might not be able to take pictures of Machu Picchu together.

DAY 1
Lima
Welcome to Peru! Your adventure start in Lima. Peru’s colorful capital is both cosmopolitan and chaotic. You will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel by a private transfer, where you will meet other travelers and your local tour leader at the main welcome meeting at 2:00 PM. If you arrive before this time, you may want to take a walk to the historic center to admire its magnificent colonial architecture. After the conference, join your group and guide for your first taste of Lima’s world-famous cuisine at a welcoming dinner. Try some of Peru’s best dishes at a fantastic restaurant beloved by locals. From tempting fresh ceviches to pisco sours, you’ll soon understand why Lima is known as the gastronomic capital of South America.

DAY 2
Arequipa
Morning flight to Arequipa, afternoon city tour of Arequipa and visit to Santa Catalina Monastery Today we left early in the morning to fly to Arequipa, known as the White City because many of its exquisite colonial buildings were built from pale volcanic stone. This picturesque city is surrounded by 19,685-foot (6,000-meter) volcanoes, including the near-perfect Misti Volcano. Our afternoon tour will explore the historic city center, including the Plaza de Armas (main square), ending at the colorful and peaceful Santa Catalina Monastery, founded in 1580 and still inhabited by nuns.
- Accommodation : hotel in Arequipa.

DAY 3
Colqa Canyon
Visit Salinas National Reserve, hoping to spot vicuñas, head to Colca Valley and Hot Springs
Driving through the stunning Andean plateau landscape known as the Altiplano, we arrive at Colca Canyon, one of the deepest canyons in the world. Along the way, we’ll pass volcanoes and almost certainly see vicuñas (relatives of camels) in the highlands before crossing the Patapampa Pass (16,100 ft/4,900 m), which marks the descent into the canyon. As we followed the winding road to a short stop in the town of Chivay, the view of the green, fertile canyon terraces contrasted with the barren but beautiful landscape of the plateau. This was the first day we felt the effects of the altitude. We do not stop at the top of the pass, but stay overnight at around 3600 meters, so relax and enjoy the natural hot springs at Colca Valley.
- Accommodation : hotel in Arequipa.
- Meals : Breakfast.
DAY 4
Puno
We spend a full day exploring the Colca Canyon, starting with a visit to the Cruz del Condor, the best place to see mighty Andean condors as they glide on the morning thermals. Now, strictly regulated tourism provides them with a reasonable income, but they still fish in the lake and barter with mainland communities for daily necessities. We then visit Taquile, a community known for its male weavers and traditional way of life. The island offers incredible panoramic views of the lake, with the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Real often visible in the distance

The recommendation of this list is based on the previous comments of our customers, especially if you intend to do the Inca Trail, Please consider the suggestions we give you here, but feel free to pack as you wish and consider that the weather may be different depending on the period of the year you want to travel and its different microclimates that it has for the different geographical regions.
Packing
Most travelers prefer small to medium wheeled suitcases that are large enough for our private cars. Whatever you bring, keep in mind that you need to be able to carry your luggage, handle it at the airport, get in/out of your accommodation and possibly even walk short distances.
In general, we recommend packing as light as possible.
Domestic flight baggage allowance:
The maximum weight limit for checked baggage is 23 kg, including 1 small piece of hand luggage (maximum dimensions for hand luggage: 25 cm depth x 35 cm width x 45 cm height).
Any excess baggage fees must be paid directly to the airline at check-in.
In addition to the items and clothes you always need when traveling, we have listed our packing recommendations for this trip:
Basic
- Closed-toe shoes help protect your feet from cuts and scrapes when walking around the city and bush/grass areas, and can also act as a barrier against bites or stings in rare cases
- Sun protection
- Hat, sunscreen
- Sunglasses
Recommended:
- Soft and/or hard copies of all important documents such as tickets, passports, vaccination certificates, etc.
- And keep hard copies separate from the originals. While a copy is ineffective, it makes it easier to get a replacement if needed
- Water bottle. We recommend a capacity of at least 1.5 liters. The sale of plastic bottled water is causing huge environmental problems around the world.Much of it ends up in limited landfills or is buried in streams and the natural environment
- Power adapter plug
- Personal medical kit. Your guide will bring a large kit, but we recommend bringing items such as mild pain relievers, electrolytes and patches.
Insecticide - Can be used with clocks/alarm clocks or phones
Elective subjects
- Earplugs to prevent potential snoring from roommates
- Phrasebook
Valuables:
Try not to bring unnecessary valuables and use the hotel safe.
It’s also a good idea to buy a money belt or purse that’s easy to hide
Laundry:
Many hotels and cities offer laundry services while you’re traveling, but you may have to wait over the night for your laundry to be returned on time.
Hotel laundries usually charge per piece, while self-service laundries usually charge per kilogram, and the price is usually not expensive (around $2 per kg)
Amazon Jungle Packing List
- Long, light, close-fitting cotton shirt and pants
- Comfortable shoes and sandals for outdoor walking and around lodge.
- Long, thick socks to wear with rubber boots from the lodge.
- Raincoat or poncho
- Tropical-strength insecticide
- Small bills for occasional purchases (e.g. drinks)
- Headlamp or flashlight (optional, smartphone flashlight will suffice)
- Binoculars (optional)
For Hiking in Peru
We provide tents and sleeping mats during your Peru trek.
During the pre-hike briefing, you will be given a small bag to carry your hiking clothes, please note that the weight limit is 5 kg, including the sleeping bag.
If you are hiking in Peru, in addition to the general packing list above, be sure to bring these items with you.
Passport:
You must bring your passport, a photocopy is not enough.
It is very important that your passport matches the information you provided us when booking this trip (please keep it in a plastic bag in case of rain)
Sleeping bag:
A warm sleeping bag is required for the hike. Sleeping bag rental costs 20-25 USD, please inform the group leader during the briefing.
A four-season (or -10) sleeping bag is recommended, especially during the winter months.
Other times you can wear a 3-season (or -5) sleeping bag, but it depends on how cold you are and is just a guide.
Silk sleeping bag liner
Especially recommended if you plan to rent a sleeping bag, but can also add warmth to your own.
Pillow
Pillows are not provided on the trek, it is your personal choice if you want to bring one. If you decide to bring a pillow, we recommend that you bring a travel-friendly pillow that will easily fit into your small bag.
Walking poles:
Trekking poles are not required, it is a personal choice. We recommend renting them before your hike briefing for around $10 per person, so you can avoid the hassle of carrying them for the rest of your trip.
Daypack:
A daypack with easy access to a water bottle (outside pocket) or a daypack with a built-in water bladder.
The bag should be large enough to hold a few things you need for the day (hat, water, camera, snacks, raincoat, etc).
Water bottle:
You should bring at least 2 liters of water per day when hiking. Depending on whether you have a hydration bladder in your bag, we recommend bringing two (1 liter) bottles along the way that can be filled with boiled water, as they are provided daily.
Waterproof, abrasion-resistant walking boots:
Good, comfortable shoes are essential.
No matter what you wear on your feet, comfort is the most important thing. It is very important to make sure your boots are durable and lightweight.
Ankle support and waterproof are recommended, but if you already have comfortable, grippy boots, don’t rush out and buy new ones – you’re better off with your old pair!
- Layering:
(e.g. zip-up pants, jacket, T-shirt).
Thermal underwear:
Thermal underwear is highly recommended as it is lightweight, will keep you warm at night.
Sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.
Personal medicine and basic first aid kit.Band-Aids, Imodium, Pain killer and rehydration packs.
Camera and extra batteries, memory cards or film.
Please note: there are no electrical outlets on the hike, so make sure you are fully charged and/or have extra batteries.
Snacks:
Chocolate, potato chips, cookies, energy bars. Snacks are provided during the hike, but you can bring an extra one or two just in case.
If you have dietary requirements, it is recommended that you bring suitable snacks from home.
We provide breakfast, lunch and dinner, but for safety reasons it is advisable to bring snacks.
Plastic bag
Keep your belongings and clothes dry (wrap everything in a plastic bag).
toilet paper:
Most importantly! There are also small plastic bags or zip lock bags for trash, which are then thrown into the main trash bag provided by the mover. Please don’t throw toilet paper on the floor!
Wet wipes or facial tissues
These are essential and will come in handy if you are traveling long distances and don’t have access to a shower.
Small towel and basic personal toiletries:
There is a shower available on the third night on the Inca Trail , so bring travel – shampoo and body wash if you wish.
Extras
Headlamp or standard flashlight (flashlight).
(very important) and spare batteries.
Insecticide with tropical strength.
Antibacterial hand gel.
Flip flops/sandals.If you want to shower and walk around camp after a long day of hiking.
Earplugs: If your tent «roommate» snores.
- You can choose how much you bring, but remember that the weight limit is 5 kg. We recommend the following:
- 2 pairs of long pants (zippered for easy access Optional, but not required).
- 2 T-shirts.
- 1 pair of shorts.
- Raincoat or poncho (ponchos can be purchased locally 2-3 USD).
- 4-5 pairs of thick socks.
- Warm clothes for the night.
